DESIGN

Aux(1) Tab

This tab is for selection and input of the design conditions for Turbine Driven BFP and Auxiliary Steam(1) of Design Heat Balance.

Auxiliary steam is the steam supplied to an external user out of turbine cycle.   Two auxiliary steams are provided.

Auxiliary steam is assumed to be returned as condensate to the turbine cycle after use, and the flow not returned as condensate is assumed to be supplemented as condenser make-up water to the turbine cycle.

Selection of "Turbine Driven BFP" and its "Driving Steam Source" is automatically reflected to those in "Start" tab.

Turbine Driven BFP ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To select whether BFP(Boiler Feed Water Pump) is driven by steam turbine or not.   The BFP driving turbine is a separate one and not driven by main turbine.

It is assumed that the exhaust steam of BFP driving turbine is discharged into main condenser.

If this check box is unchecked, BFP is assumed as motor-driven.

Driving Steam Source combo box

To select the steam source of BFP driving steam turbine.

Selection list includes main steam line, cold reheat line and LP crossover line as well as the bleeding lines for all feed water heaters.

Inlet Steam Pipe Pressure Drop text box

To input the pressure drop percent of the inlet steam pipe for BFP driving turbine.

Exhaust Pressure text box

To input the exhaust pressure of BFP driving turbine.   It may be different from the exhaust pressure of main steam turbine.

Turbine Wheel Eff. Input by User, Turbine Mech. Eff. Input by User, check box and text boxes

To select the method of efficiency calculation for BFP driving steam turbine.

If User checks this check box, then "Turbine Mech. Eff." as well as "Turbine Wheel Eff." should be input by User.

Aux. Steam(1) Supply to check box -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To select whether the first auxiliary steam is supplied or not.

User may input the title of the first auxiliary steam in the text box beside, which shall be written in text output.

Steam Supply Source combo box

To select the steam source of Aux. Steam(1).   Selection list includes main steam line, cold reheat line and LP crossover line as well as the bleeding lines for all feed water heaters.

Condensate Receiver combo box

To select the place to receive the return condensate of Aux. Steam(1).   It includes condenser and all feed water heaters.

Steam Supply Flow Rate text box

To input flow rate of Aux. Steam(1) to be supplied to an external user.

Condensate Return Ratio text box

To input the condensate return ratio of Aux. Steam(1).   The flow not returned as condensate is assumed to be supplemented as condenser make-up water to the turbine cycle.

Condensate Return Temperature text box

To input the condensate return temperature of Aux. Steam(1).    It is assumed that the enthalpy of return condensate is saturation water enthalpy at the return temperature.
